Encouragement In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
American Cancer Society estimates that nearly 300,000 U.S. women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2023, and nearly 50,000 will ultimately die from a disease that can often be diagnosed and treated early.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Mee Memorial Healthcare System in South Monterey County offers incentives for local women to undergo a potentially life-saving mammogram.
Breast cancer can take years to develop, yet women rarely have symptoms in the early stages. Mammograms are vital for early detection and successful treatment. A baseline mammogram is recommended beginning at age 40.
MMHS’s friendly “Mammo Team” is standing by at the Mammogram Center at 210 Canal St. in King City.
