Mee Memorial Healthcare System offers a breadth of services geared towards
keeping women healthy.
Our practitioners are experienced in providing care to teens and women
of all ages. We help provide access to services for uninsured women through
many local and federal programs and will help patients register for these services.
The following are the services we provide:
Prenatal and Post-Partum Care:
Our providers include Family practice doctors who can take care of the
whole family in addition to womens’ needs. They are fellowship trained
specifically in obstetrics and offer a family centered approach to pregnancy
care with a focus on the care of women, infants and children. We are able
to help you decide on the right time to start or expand your family and
are able to promote the best health for both mothers and their children.
- Family planning, counseling, and pregnancy testing
- Infertility

Prenatal care throughout all 40 weeks of pregnancy:
- Labs, ultrasounds, pregnancy complications, and high risk pregnancy conditions
- Postpartum care after delivery
- In-office/bedside ultrasound capabilities
- Connection to genetic screening and counseling
- Management of pregnancy loss (spontaneous abortion or miscarriage) including
diagnosis, follow up, medication or surgical management such as D&C
- Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) - education program
While we do not currently offer labor and delivery or triage services,
it is something that we hope to bring back. Our core providers of obstetrical
care have privileges at hospitals in Salinas are often able to provide
continuity inpatient care through delivery and postpartum. Our goal is
to assist in a healthy and safe delivery.
Gynecology:
Our providers can evaluate a myriad of conditions and concerns including
irregular menstruation or uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts,
discharge or concerns about infection or sexually transmitted diseases.
Some of the most important to highlight are:
- Cervical cancer screening and abnormal pap smears
- Biopsy, excision and/or drainage of vulvar lesions, cysts etc.
- Colposcopy and biopsy
- Immunizations for HPV, also called “Human Papilloma Virus”
a sexually transmitted disease that can lead to cervical cancer. These
are currently offered routinely to teens during well child care but often
covered by insurance for women up until the age of 26.
- Menstruation concerns, abnormal or irregular bleeding
- Menopause evaluation and treatment
Birth Control and Family Planning:
- Birth control counseling with referral for any services we do not currently offer.
- Long acting reversible contraception such as intrauterine devices (IUD)
or subdermal implants (Nexplanon)
- Immediate post-partum tubal ligation
Sexually Transmitted Disease/Infection (STD/STI)
We offer quick and discrete evaluation and treatment for many of these
conditions including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes virus, Human Papilloma
virus, syphilis, HIV, hepatitis, fungal infections and other urogenital
infections. We also provide “partner” treatment when indicated.
Breast Health:
- Evaluation of abnormal lesions, masses, skin findings
- Breast cancer screening or follow up of abnormal testing with onsite Mammography
and ultrasound imaging capabilities
- Peri-partum complications of breast feeding or lactation support
Urogynecology:
- Urinary incontinence
- Urinary tract infections
- Pelvic floor dysfunction including sizing for pessary or management of
other urogenital organ prolapse
